The 14–year–old from Woodcote had her parents gasping for breath as she flew round the showjumping arena at the Royal Windsor Horse Show.
Maddy and her pony Maggie, a 13–year–old coloured cob type, were picked to represent Area 12 in the Pony Club open showjumping championships and achieved second place in an exceptionally strong class. Maggie is a 14.1hh pony who was competing against 16.hh horses and bigger after being recognised by Pony Club trainer Posy Knapp, from Sonning.
Maddy’s mother Lisa Dudley bought Maggie about eight years ago with the hope that she might share her and had no idea that the pair would enjoy such success.
Maddy and Maggie will be representing the Woodland Hunt Pony Club at level 4, 1m eventing, in Hambleden tomorrow (Saturday).
