AUTHOR Amanda Jennings will open the pop-up charity Christmas card shop at the Christ Church Centre in Henley, next Saturday (October 29) at 11.30am.
Cards for Good Causes is staffed by a team of local volunteers and offers a range of cards from 35 national and local charities, including Cancer Research UK, the NSPCC, the Alzheimer’s Society, RNLI, Helen & Douglas House and Thames Valley and Chiltern Air Ambulance.
Also on sale will be traditional advent calendars and candles, wrapping paper, gift tags, napkins and stocking fillers.
Shop manager Jan Channer said: “We are looking forward to welcoming Amanda following the success of her latest book In Her Wake.
“Buying charity Christmas cards is one of the simplest ways to support good causes this festive season.
“Sales of the cards not only generate funds with which the charities can make a real difference but also purchasing and sending them helps raise awareness of the vital work these charities do.”
The shop in Reading Road will be open from Monday to Saturday from 10am to 4pm.
