IF you are considering a career change or enhancing your current occupation then a forthcoming professional massage course could be for you.

Tonic Massage Academy in Henley will be offering their nationally accredited diploma in therapeutic massage and anatomy, physiology and pathology from September 14. This level four qualification is accredited by Massage Training Institute UK.

Experienced tutors will teach and support you through the nine months of rigorous training so that you qualify with a strong set of massage skills and the underpinning knowledge to help you develop as a professional therapist. They offer a range of continuing professional development workshops such as marketing and business skills, advanced technique, mindfulness and massage.

Training is completed in 23 days over a nine-month period and attendance takes place over weekends which are three to four weeks apart, making it accessible for people who work full-time. In-between training days allow you to practise your massage skills, complete written assignments and study the all important anatomy and physiology modules.

Massage clinics

You are welcome to help current students gain experience by coming along for a 60-minute massage for £5 at their student clinics on May 11 and 12 and June 1 and 2. Book your place early.

Graduate massage clinics are also available. Four therapists share the space and thereby offer massages at a specially reduced rate. The aim is to help make massage more accessible to everyone as well as a way for newly-qualified therapists to network with others and keep good practice going.

To enrol on the next course email celines@tonicmassage.co.uk for an application form. Visit www.tonicmassage.co.uk
