A TRADITIONAL acupuncturist has joined Studio One in Nettlebed.
Heidi MacLeod studied at the internationally-renowned College of Integrated Chinese Medicine in Berkshire where she obtained a BSc Hons in acupuncture. She practises a combination of the two most popular forms of traditional acupuncture today — five element and TCM (traditional Chinese medicine) to address individual issues within a holistic approach.
Many modern-day health problems stem from a mixture of physical, mental and emotional imbalances. Acupuncture and Chinese medical philosophy recognises the role of emotion, environment, diet, lifestyle, family history and mental state in wellbeing. Heidi utilises the wisdom of Chinese medical philosophy to provide insightful and holistic treatments, incorporating lifestyle and dietary advice, to further enhance treatment and to help all aspects of a patient’s wellbeing and lifestyle.
As a general practitioner, Heidi treats a broad range of conditions. She believes in preventative medicine and the important place acupuncture has in this type of health programme. She has a specialist interest in stress-related disorders, mental health and pain management as well as women’s health, pregnancy and fertility. She is on the committee of Oxfordshire’s Acupuncture and Childbirth team.
As a member of the British Acupuncture Council, the UK’s main regulatory body for the safe practice of traditional acupuncture, Heidi abides by the council’s code of safe practice and code of professional conduct, and is covered by full professional and public products liability insurance. She also continues to update her practice and skills by attending courses, workshops and other programmes that offer continuing professional development.
Heidi’s approach is gentle and effective. She is dedicated to patient care and wellbeing and uses ultra fine needles for the patient’s comfort. Please call or email to learn more about her treatments and how they could help you.
Heidi is available at Studio One on Fridays. Call 07796 674328 for more details or to book an appointment.
