I WAS asked the other day how can I see what my new kitchen and bathroom would look like, as my client found it very difficult to imagine what could be achieved, writes Gary Evans.
Spatial awareness is hard to come by and visualising the room to be refurbished with what can and cannot be achieved will require the skills of an experienced designer.
A designer can assist with a recommendation of what products are available on the market today as well as what will fit. They can also assist with any advice on structural alterations to make more of a room by taking down a dividing wall and opening the kitchen into the dining area — or even if one can be created as an en suite into a property to add the additional bathroom.
That not only provides for more comfort and ease of living, but also adds value. Designers mostly use computer-aided design (CAD) software that can assist with the visualisation.
Not every product can be viewed and touched as there are so many on the market and it can be hard to visualise them within the room, but CAD designs can provide real-life images of what the room can be transformed into with most products that are available today. Some designers just provide a design and supply service, leaving you to manage the installation or source someone or all the necessary trades required.
But some provide a fully project-managed installation service too, so that it can be managed from design through to completion.
At GD Evans Interiors we are experienced designers of kitchens, bedrooms and bathrooms and provide a free consultation, CAD design and quotation along with a fully project-managed installation service.
