TWO Rotary clubs have collaborated to present a dementia toolkit to Braeburn Lodge Care Home in Beenham.
The Rotary Club of Pangbourne in partnership with the Rotary Club of Reading Abbey delivered the multi-sensory activity toolkit (AMuSED box) for use by staff and their residents living with dementia.
The concept of the toolkit was initially developed by emeritus Professor Rachel McCrindle and Dr Esther Olorunda as part of a PhD at the University of Reading. Following the success of the prototype evaluation in a number of care homes, the Rotary Club of Pangbourne raised the funds to enable Braeburn Lodge Care Home to benefit from this innovative toolkit.
