Holiday fun at museum

THE River & Rowing Museum in Mill Meadows has lots of family activities to keep children busy during half term week.

On Monday, February 17, from 10.30am to 11.30am (please arrive at 10.20am), in “Mole’s Maze”, fun with Maddy will involve singing, storytelling and making a model of Mole’s house and underground tunnels. Suitable for ages six and over, the activity costs £7.75.

On Tuesday, February 18, there is a free trail taking place all day around, suitable for all ages. Pick up a trail from the museum’s front desk, no booking required.

On Wednesday, February 19, from 10.30am to 11.30am (please arrive at 10.20am), in “Space and Stars: storytelling and craft”, children will create a space-themed mask, then Sarah will read tales with space and star themes. Suitable for ages three and over, cost £7.75.

From 1.30pm to 2.30pm (please arrive at 1.20pm), in “5, 4, 3, 2, 1: space crafty models!” art tutor Camilla will provide guidance as children create their own spaceship models. Suitable for ages four and over, cost £7.75.

On Thursday, February 20, from 10am to 12.30pm, there is a morning of activities in a “Pirates and Princesses family event”. Suitable for all ages, there will be themed crafts, stories and activities, the event is free with admission (some activities cost £1 or £2), no booking required.

Then from 1.30pm to 2.30pm (please arrive at 1.20pm), there is a “Pirates and Princesses disco party”. There will be an afternoon of dancing with themed party games and a visit from Mr Toad. Refreshments for younger visitors will be available to buy from Toad’s Tuck Shop, while adults can buy takeaway items from the museum café.
