VOLUNTEERS have planted winter and spring bulbs in Henley.
Henley In Bloom?s ?gardening buddies? planted blue and yellow tulips in seven places, together with nandina shrubs.
At each location, they dug up any old plants and removed their roots before topping up the beds with compost.
The seven volunteers started at the planters on Northfield End green, where residents gave them tea and coffee. They then moved on to the park in Station Road and the twinning association beds at Mill Meadows.
Finally, they worked outside the Old Fire Station Gallery in Market Place, the fire station in West Street, the shops at the top of the hill in Greys Road and at the corner of Greys Road and Gillotts Lane.
Earlier this month, the buddies planted 2,000 crocuses and tête-à-tête daffodils near the wishing well in Reading Road.
Their next task is to improve the entrances to the town in Reading Road and Fair Mile.
Town councillor Elizabeth Hodgkin, who is vice-chairman of the Henley In Bloom committee, said: ?We want to do something completely different but need some inspiration.?
