TWO tree pruning courses will be held at Cross Lanes Fruit Farm in Mapledurham.
The courses - held on Saturday, January 31 and Thursday, February 5 - are designed for all levels and the overall objectives and the effect of pruning will be explained.
The course will concentrate on apple trees, highlighting where the treatment of plums and pears differ. It will cover the general principles, tree shape, major branch removal and range from rescuing neglected trees to training new trees.
Detailed pruning techniques will be demonstrated and participants will be able have a go on the trees in the orchard.

Detailed pruning techniques will be demonstrated and participants will be able to put their new skills into practice in the orchards at the farm, which contain about 2,000 trees.
