HENLEY in Bloom’s Gardening Buddies tidied up a roundabout at one of the town’s entrances.
Several volunteers spent an hour pruning the flowering annuals and evergreen plants in the beds at the island in Reading Road, near Tesco. They also dug up weeds.
Paul Terroni, a landscape specialist who redesigned the roundabout last year, helped with the work on Saturday. Organiser Liz Hodgkin said: “It was looking lovely and ready for the spring by the time we had finished.
“Paul was really pleased with the results and we’ll hopefully see him again to plant some alliums in the autumn.”
The team also tidied up the new Gardening Buddies beds further along Reading Road, near the entrance to Newtown Road.
Land between Green View, Holyport Street, and Glenside, Holyport Road This week’s public notices include plans for a self-build home on a plot of land in the heart of Holyport. The site is the subject of three failed bids for housing already.
