Mcquillan wins gold

A SYNCRONISED swimmer from Witheridge Hill won a gold medal at a competition in Crawley.

Romilly Mcquillan, 10, who swims for Reading Royals Artistic Swimming Club secured gold at the regional artistic figures competition held at Crawley k2.

Mcquillian, daugther of former GB rower Matthew Mcquillan, started swimming with the Reading club when she was just six. Her first competition was the National Combo Cup in July last year where the club took bronze in the U12 category.

Mcquillan was selected for the South East regional squad for this year where they won bronze at Hengrove in Bristol.
