ANIMAL lover Ann Widdecombe is back at the Theatre Royal, Windsor, this weekend — for a star-studded charity gala to help abused and abandoned horses.
The former MP turned Strictly Come Dancing star enjoyed a stint in panto over the Christmas period — appearing as the fairy godmother in Cinderella.
On Sunday night, starting at 7.30pm, she will be among a host of famous names taking to the stage for the Class Act 2 charity gala in aid of the Mane Chance Sanctuary near Guildford.
Ann, 68, who will be appearing at the Henley Literary Festival on Friday, September 30, said: “I was on in Windsor at Christmas and while I was there Paul du Fer, who organises this event and was doing all the managing for that particular panto, asked me if I would join the event. As I understand it, what I have to do is introduce one of the acts.”
The Class Act gala was founded by Jenny Seagrove last year and proved so successful that it was decided to stage a sequel.
Big names appearing this year include Marti Webb, Lyn Paul, Lorraine Chase, Mark Curry, Angie Best and Anita Harris.
The hosts are Alison Hammond from This Morning, Matt Evers from Dancing on Ice and Gemma Oaten from Emmerdale.
Tickets are priced from £20 to £65 and can be booked by calling 01753 853888 or visiting www.theatreroyalwindsor.co.uk
