What a beautiful basis this is of prayer and for our prayerful conversation with God our heavenly Father. Thomas Moore said that “through prayer, Earth has no sorrow that Heaven cannot heal.”
Prayer is a gift from God that allows us to communicate with him. When we pray we will become aware of God’s presence around us and His love and grace within us.
Christ’s earthly ministry provides a template of how we should live with one another. We are to love God as He has loved us, and to forgive one another as we have been forgiven.
For many of us “The Lord’s Prayer” taught at primary school has remained with us, and can be a good starting point for a conversation with God. In this modern day of tele-communication, it is not difficult for us to believe that God can pick up our frequency when we pray.
It might be in bed, sitting somewhere indoors or in the open air, on a journey or in a place of worship. He knows each and every one of us. He will answer and although it may not be the straightforward response we would like, however He will know what we need at that time and make connections, which we might be totally unaware of.
Through practice build your relationship with Jesus and ask Him to remove anxiety and fill you with His perfect peace. Matthew 7.7 “Ask, and it will be given unto you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened unto you!”
