West End star Janie Dee will be joined by TV personality Christopher Biggins and dance legend Wayne Sleep for an event marking the opening of Cookham Festival 2026.
The popular biennial Cookham Festival will return to the village from May 1 to May 17.
Ahead of this, two-time Olivier award-winning performer Janie Dee will perform her critically acclaimed Beautiful World of Cabaret at Holy Trinity Church in Cookham on Friday, March 6 from 7.30pm.
Janie will take to the stage alongside a line-up of friends on the evening, including Wayne Sleep, Christopher Biggins and vocal trio Three’s Company.
Next month’s event will see Janie, who is currently starring in Noel Coward’s Fallen Angels at the Menier Chocolate Factory, confront the climate crisis and celebrate the world through spoken word.
Janie has created her own climate-focused cabaret exploring the place nature holds in her life.
Beautiful World Cabaret offers a green twist on classic cabaret, asking how each individual can make a difference in the fight against climate change.
Through a selection of words and music, Janie and her friends celebrate the natural world while reflecting on humanity’s relationship with the environment.
Festival chairman Derek Bond, said: "We're thrilled to welcome Janie and such an incredible group of performers to Cookham.
"This promises to be an unforgettable evening that combines world-class entertainment with an urgent and hopeful message about our planet."
Tickets to Janie Dee – Beautiful World Cabaret cost £25 and are available via: www.cookhamfestival.co.uk/janie-dee
