A game of two halves for Henley

Henley visited Maidenhead Thicket in a five mixed triples friendly match on Wednesday, May 31.

It was a game of two halves, with Henley struggling over the first nine ends, being 25-52 down, then scored 48 to Thicket’s 36 over the remaining nine ends to go down 73-88
overall.

Peter Borsberry with Barrie Davies and Richard Kingston were three down after nine ends, then finished strongly to win 17-13.

David Burdon with Frank Powell and Angelika Crisa were four down after nine ends but pulled back shots to win 16-14.

Andy Scott with Peter Watkins and Trish Jones were eight down after 13 ends, managed to be level to 15-15 after end 17 but dropped a two to go down 15-17.

Jeanie Davies with Dave Palmer and Brian Duddy were three down after nine ends but couldn’t reduce the deficit going down 14-20.

Kevin Currill with Keith Lawrance and Ramsay Adams struggled from the start, going down 11-24.

A friendly match against Trentham on Saturday, June 3 was cancelled due to a mix up on both club’s fixtures cards but Henley have another match scheduled with them in July.
