Kennedy ‘a consistent winner’

SHIPLAKE visited Reading Bowls Club in an Oddfellows Triples League match on Sunday.

Reading is a strong club and unfortunately Shiplake suffered a rather heavy defeat of 61 shots to 126. Shiplake did, however, have one winning rink. The triple of Marilyn Mowatt, David Lloyd and Graham Kennedy won 17-14.

Recently Shiplake visited Trenthams Bowls Club in the first of two friendly contests and came away with a narrow win of 66 shots to 64.

This was a four triples match and Shiplake won on two rinks. Sandra Gough, Mick Lovejoy and Tony Reid won 17-15. Alan Myatt, Sue Reid and Graham Kennedy won 23-16.

In the second fixture Tilehurst were the visitors. Shiplake went down 64-98 in this one, though they did win on two rinks.

David Ward, Sue Reid and Wendy Cross won 15-14.

They secured a point on the last end. Neil Worley, Jane Ward and Graham Kennedy were the victors 21-17.

Graham has been an excellent skip for Shiplake throughout this season, consistently being in a winning triple.
