WARGRAVE went down to a 67-57 home Kennet League defeat against MAIDENHEAD TOWN B on Tuesday of last week. The result saw the hosts pick up two points to the visitors’ 12.

Drawing at 14-14 going into the last end, a careful measure after the final shot saw the visitors run out 15-14 winners.
On Sunday WARGRAVE went down to a 95-70 defeat at SHIPLAKE in a five mixed triples friendly.
Wargrave’s Tony Boffin, Maurice Freeman and John Tegg went down 22-10 while Chez Annetts, Barry Holder and Peter Burton tackled a challenging rink which due to an unpredictable curve on one side forced everyone to play on the same bias, with the visitors winning 21-11.

The triple skipped by Elaine Robinson were level with one end to play but dropped two shots to just come up short. Shiplake’s only winning triple was that of Jane Ward, Ali Uygur and Wendy Cross, 26-13.
