New talks series about space exploration

A SERIES of talks will be held at the River & Rowing Museum in Henley

The TED-style talks will feature UK space industry experts, offering listeners an opportunity to engage with specialists on topics ranging from astronaut training to space debris management.

The speakers will delve into the realities of space travel and exploration, shedding light on the latest research and the challenges faced by astronauts and scientists. They will be accompanied by the museum’s Space Vault exhibition, which explores humanity’s journey into space and the science behind it.

The museum will offer exclusive “Behind the Vault” sessions for guests to get up close and personal with items from the exhibition, including artefacts from NASA’s Apollo missions.

These sessions are designed to provide deeper insights into the history of space exploration and the technological advancements that made the achievements possible. Space enthusiasts, historians and anyone interested in the future of space travel are all welcome.

The first talk in the series takes place on Thursday, October 24 and the talks will run until May next year.

Ticket prices range from £20 for general talks to £100 for small group premium, in-depth experiences.
