AN evening of free talks about digital technology in business will take place in Henley on Wednesday.
The event, called Digital Henley, will be held in the function room at Zizzi in Hart Street from 7pm.
Three speakers will discuss how the growth of mobile internet has changed the way businesses operate.
The first will be Ben Seymour, director of solutions consulting at London e-commerce firm Amplience. The company has created video players and new website layouts for clients including DFS, Marks & Spencer and Halfords.
Terence Eden, senior product manager at mobile network O2 Telefonica, will be the second speaker. Mr Eden, who works for O2?s research project The Lab, will give a talk called ?Is mobile all it?s cracked up to be??
The third speaker will be Pete Doyle, the founder of social media training firm Source Retail and a lecturer at the Henley Business School. He will discuss how to promote a business and interact with customers through sites like Twitter and Facebook.
Each talk will include a question and answer session and there will be a reception with networking opportunities.
Digital marketing agency Redberry, of Duke Street, in Henley, is organising the evening. It hopes to make Digital Henley a regular event with a different theme each time.
Laura Norman, Redberry?s operations manager, said: ?We want to build a community of digital enthusiasts, including everyone from developers to marketing professionals and designers, anyone who is involved in the digital industry.
?The talks will cover different subjects so that there is something for everyone. There is an awful lot of talent in the area and there are a lot of important and upcoming companies. There are lots of universities around here as well but many graduates will go straight off to work in London. We want to keep them in this area and hopefully by starting a digital community we will encourage that.?
