Gary Flux has taken over the Crown Inn in High Street following the departure of Tim and Germaine Cullimore.
Mr Flux, of Horseshoes Lane, Benson, has 18 years’ experience in the hospitality industry and has run the Shepherd’s Hut in Ewelme since November.
Both pubs are owned by Suffolk brewer Greene King.
Mr Flux, who was an assistant air traffic controller in the RAF for seven years, has re-launched the Crown with an American-themed menu, including chicken wings, burgers and hot dogs.
In January last year the Cullimores asked Benson Parish Council to consider the idea of the pub becoming community-owned as they said they could no longer make a living from the business, even though they worked 16 hours a day.
The couple took over the pub in July 2013 and refurbished the six rooms and redecorated the bar and  restaurant.
The pub has been listed as an asset of community value, meaning Greene King must give locals the opportunity to buy it if it is put up for sale.
