HENLEY in Bloom is once again selling hanging flower baskets to brighten up the town in summer.
Businesses and residents can take part in the scheme, which is supported by the Henley Standard’s Buy a Basket campaign.
The baskets will be installed during May and maintained until September by WindowFlowers, of Burnham.
They cost from £47 to £78, and the brackets to hang them cost £32 each.
Last year, a record number of 273 coronation-themed baskets were sold.
This year’s theme and flower types has not been decided yet.
Caroline Notaras, who chairs Henley in Bloom, said: “Our residents like to be wowed by colourful and abundant baskets filled with tumbling perpetuating blooms that robustly complement our beautiful historic buildings.
“My preference would be for bright, eye-catching blooms of pinks, mauves and purple with splashes of bright yellow and white.”

• Henley will not enter the Britain in Bloom competition again until 2025 as organisers feel this will give them a better chance of winning gold. Mrs Notaras says the committee needs time to properly prepare for the annual contest, having not taken part since 2019. Before taking a break, Henley had won seven golds in the Thames and Chilterns regional competition in eight years.
