A MAN from Wargrave has launched a campaign to raise £1,000 to support a family who run a Wargrave convenience shop.
Chris Cordrey, of Victoria Road, set up the fundraiser to recognise the hard work of the Sreemurthy family who will mark 25 years of running the A & I shop on May 26.
Mr Cordrey will hold a presentation to owners Praba and Thangarajah Sreemurthy at the shop in Victoria Road at 1pm on Saturday, May 24.
He said the funds raised will help towards the challenges the family face and to thank them for their hard work over the years.
Mr Cordrey said: “The money is a thank-you from the village. They are always there and they’re always open. During covid, when everybody else couldn’t get out, they were always open for us.”
