FOLLOWING the Remembrance Sunday ceremonies, a group of 19 classic Land Rovers built from 1948 to 1980 held a remembrance tour and raised more than £500 for the Royal British Legion’s Poppy Appeal. Henry Anderson and Tom Stuart organised the event to celebrate classic series Land Rovers following a route across the Hambleden Valley from Moor Common to Lady McAlpine’s railway station at Fawley Hill. The route was off-road with the kind agreement and generous support of various private estates, offering a privileged view of places not usually accessible in the valley. The day was a great success, raising £507.32.
