Advent praise

THE Mayor of Henley has congratulated the organisers of last month’s Living Advent Calendar.

Volunteer Richard Rodway put together the 30-minute nightly performances leading up to Christmas to raise money for charities, making a record total of £8,500.

Mayor Michelle Thomas said: “I’m so pleased that it was such a big success.

“I have to say I never really appreciated it before until going mostly every night. What a fantastic bunch the organisers are.

“Huge congratulations to all of them — really good work.”
