A SHOP in Henley has donated £1,000 to a charity.
Laurence Menswear in Bell Street raised the money for the Chiltern Centre at the town’s Christmas festival.
Laurence Morris, who owns the shop, said: “It’s great to support local charities and the Chiltern Centre is a great cause.
“Every year at the Christmas festival, we put out mulled wine, Christmas cakes and Lawlor’s mince pies under a gazebo outside the shop and the public make donations. We choose different charities each year but for the last two years we have given to the Chiltern Centre.
“We raised just under £700 on the night and leading up to Christmas we made it up to £1,000.”
The Chiltern Centre supports young people with disabilities and their families. Harriet Barcella, marketing and communications manager at the centre, said: “We have to raise £200,000 a year to keep the doors open and we can only do it with the community support we get.
“People like Laurence who continue to support us make such a massive difference.”
