THIS weekend (Saturday/Sunday, November 30/December 1) is the first of the four weekends before Christmas when you can have a day out with Thomas to meet Father Christmas at Didcot Railway Centre.
Families can enjoy the usual Thomas activities, such as seeing and meeting the Fat Controller and riding behind Duck.
They can also enjoy being transported behind the famous blue engine to meet Father Christmas in his grotto, where children receive an age-appropriate gift from him.
Didcot Railway Centre is the only heritage railway to offer this unique combination, which remains popular as ever. In the past, visitors have come from as far away as China and the USA for this special event.
Availability for the first weekend remains good: people can either book online up to 2am on Thursday or just turn up on the day. For later weekends, advance booking is suggested, as there will be less availability. Book now at www.dayoutwiththomas.co.uk/didcot, or call the centre on 01235 817200 (booking fees apply).
