HELEN and Peter of the Maltsters in Rotherfield Greys have just celebrated 15 years in business and would like to thank their loyal clientele for their continued support. They believe in the traditions of a country pub and welcome drinkers, diners, children and of course dogs.
At present all their game dishes from stuffed pheasant with chicken liver paté to homemade venison burgers are all very much from local sources — within five miles!
Their steak and kidney pudding is selling very well but they only steam them on Tuesdays — 15 for lunch and 15 for dinner — so if you are definitely planning a visit call and reserve one on (01491) 628400 — they always sell out.
There is still availability for Christmas parties — two courses for £18.95 or three courses for £22.95 plus they are offering the organiser a voucher to use in January or February. Email peter@maltsters.co.uk for details.
