THE snowdrop teas weekends at Swyncombe church raised a record £12,000 this year.
About 3,000 people visited St Botolph’s over three weekends last month to see the display of flowering bulbs in the churchyard.
The proceeds will go towards a new toilet and storage room at the church as well as local charities.
Churchwarden Hilary Cox said: “The snowdrops and aconites did us proud this year and were truly magnificent.
“We had approximately 1,000 visitors each weekend. Many enjoyed the blessing of the snowdrops on February 5 by our rector, Daniel Thompson.
“Others stayed behind for our annual snowdrop evensong service with Swyncombe choir on February 12. The ministry team is very grateful to everyone who helped to make the event a resounding success, from bakers and chutney makers to the car park marshals, but especially to the organisers of each weekend.”
