Textile art on display

09:30AM, Monday 18 August 2025

EIGHT members of Consuo Textile Art are exhibiting in Henley.

Taking their name from the Latin for “to sew together”, they are linked by a preoccupation with materials, techniques, as well as their master’s in textiles at the University for the Creative Arts in Farnham.

Inspiration comes from urban and natural landscapes, from deep connections to place and natural resources and from the materials themselves.

Each artist uses their fine craft skills to explore boundaries and use materials in new ways. Expect hand-stitch, basketry, weaving, knitting, and natural dyeing.

l “Material Expressions” is at the Old Fire Station Gallery in Upper Market Place, Henley, from Thursday, August 21 to Tuesday, September 2, open from 10am to 4pm daily. For more information, visit www.
