THE invitations are out and the website is open for registration for one of the biggest charity events of the Rotary Club of Pangbourne. The event is the Woodcote 10km, which will take place on Sunday, January 7 2024.
About 330 runners took part in this year’s event and about £4,200 was raised for humanitarian causes. The main charity for 2024 will be Parkinson’s UK.
The run will again be organised by Jeremy Wilson, supported by 20-plus members of our club.
The run is billed as “The Tough One” and just completing the undulating, meandering course along back roads, flanked by woods and farmland, gives a real sense of achievement.
It is frequently described by participants as their favourite race of the year.
The event is licensed by UK Athletics and attracts both club and non-affiliated runners.
The race will start at 10.15am at Woodcote village hall. Entry costs £22 with a £20 discount for affiliated runners. Maximum age for entry is 15.
To enter and for more information, please visit www.woodcote10k.org.uk
The event is sponsored by Warmingham estate agents and Peppard Building
Supplies.
Members of our club will also support the First Walk for Parkinson’s Henley, which will be held at the Henley Showground on Sunday, October 8, starting at 11am.
