FIVE members of the Inner Wheel Club of Reading Maiden Erlegh spent a November afternoon happily selecting and wrapping Christmas presents for children referred to the Cowshed, a local charity which provides support to people and children of all backgrounds in times of crisis.
More than £1,000 was raised for the Cowshed when we held a bridge drive and tea at Charvil village hall on November 25. A total of 64 players took part.
This is a special year as Inner Wheel is celebrating its centenary.
Our club meets at Sonning Golf Club on the third Thursday evening of every month and welcomes new members to join in the fun, take part in activities, raise funds for charity and support the local community.
