Henley Cafe Scientifique

CAFÉ Scientifique Henley presents “Breakthroughs in Alzheimer’s treatment” on Wednesday, March 13.

Alzheimer’s Research believes that research can create a world free from the fear, harm and heartbreak of dementia. It leads world class research in the pursuit of breakthroughs that will provide a path to hope and progress.

Dementia is caused by diseases and we know that through research, diseases can be cured. Every discovery brings us closer to reducing risk, improving early diagnosis and developing effective treatments that could change millions of lives for the better.

The speaker will be Dr Margarida (Guida) Ruas, organelle biology team leader, Alzheimer’s Research UK Oxford Drug Discovery Institute, University of Oxford

The meeting will be held at Henley Hockey Club. You can arrive from 7pm for a 7.30pm start. The usual format is a 45-minute talk followed by 45 minutes of questions and answers. Drinks including coffee and tea are available.

Car parking has become tricky as joy riders have caused Tesco to put up barriers to its part of the car park at 9pm, so please try hard not to park there as you won’t be able to get out.

There is a fair amount of parking beside the gym behind Henley Hockey Club. If necessary, time will be allocated to allow people to move a car during the interval (i.e. before 9pm).

• Donations will go to Alzheimer’s Research.
