History of Reading Society

THE History of Reading Society’s next meeting will hear from Ann Smith about “The history of Woodley”.

She will describe how a village grew into a suburb of Reading with its own hidden history.

Ann published a book with the help of local U3A groups. Formerly a librarian at Reading Central Library, she is currently membership secretary of the Berkshire Local History Association.

The meeting will be at the Abbey Baptist Church, Abbey Square, Reading, RG1 3BE on Wednesday. April 17 at 7.30pm (doors open at 7pm).
