POLICE in Henley want to catch youths vandalising property on film and show the evidence to their parents. Parents would then have to take responsibility for punishing their children. The initiative, which has been successful in other parts of the country, has been suggested by crime reduction officer Charles Cameron. It is known as the Bogart Scheme because of the famous line “Here’s looking at you, kid”.
After more than 10 years in development and at a cost of £17.5million, the River & Rowing Museum will open in Henley this weekend. The building will welcome its first visitors tomorrow (Saturday) and they will have a chance to meet Phillip Schofield, star of stage and screen. The museum features interactive displays and a wealth of artefacts celebrating the past, present and future of the River Thames, Henley and rowing.
