SEVENTY plucky contestants are preparing to step out on the catwalk at the Henley Show. The final line-up for this year’s Miss Henley competition is complete. The competitors will have the first opportunity to meet each other and the judges at a reception on Monday at the Jazz Café.

Residents of the King’s Road area of Henley have formed an association to fight the trial traffic and pedestrianisation scheme which is planned for the town in January. More than 75 residents attended a meeting to form the group to represent the views of people living in King’s Road, King’s Close, York Road and the surrounding streets. A survey carried out by the group showed that only six per cent of residents supported the pedestrianisation of Market Place.

The Lynden Hill Clinic at Kiln Green celebrated the opening of its new hydrotherapy pool last week. The pool is the latest development at the clinic, which specialises in medical and surgical rehabilitation. Co-founder Carole Easton said: “It is absolutely wonderful that we have finally been able to offer a pool as part of our facilities.”
