THE harvest thanksgiving services were held on Sunday at the congregational church in Henley, when the decoration of the edifice was most tastefully carried out, a feature being the making of a number of baskets from corn and straw artistically entwined. These adorned the windows and added to the effect. The Sunday school staff and scholars were responsible for the adornment of the vestibule. The pastor, the Rev E S Spooner, conducted the services throughout the day, there being a children’s special gift service in the afternoon.   

The sporting offer made by Messrs Lusted and Jenner to give the proceeds of all 20 tables at their semi-partner whist drive on Monday night to the Henley War Memorial Hospital met with an encouraging result for, despite the very wet night, the hospital will benefit to the extent of £2 14s 6d.

A meeting was held at the White Hart Hotel on Tuesday evening, Major K I Nicholl being in the chair. After some discussion, it was resolved to run Henley Hockey Club in conjunction with Wargrave and to endeavour to obtain the use of the Wargrave recreation ground for the season.
