Pangbourne Rotary Club

PANGBOURNE Rotary Club thanks the public who donated money during its Santa tour in December. More than £8,500 was raised.

The tour began on December 1 at Fords Farm and finished on December 22 at Tilehurst Triangle. Stops included Whitchurch Bridge, Woodcote, Goring and Pangbourne.

There were both street and static collections.

At the finale, more than 300 people attended to enjoy church choirs, carol singing, mince pies and mulled wine.

Club president Brian Davies said: “Pangbourne Rotary would like to thank everyone who helped us during more than 20 visits during December as well as the public for their generosity.

“These contributions will be used to support our donations to charity in the next few months.

“Equally important was the joy the club volunteers got in seeing the lovely smiling faces of kids of all ages enjoying Santa and celebrating Christmas.

“We wish everyone a happy New Year and worldwide peace for all.”

The club will make donations to charities which support people with motor neurone disease, autism and multiple sclerosis as well as to a craft group in Tilehurst which supports Ukrainians.

The club is now looking ahead to the Woodcote 10km on Sunday, which it organises.
