A CHURCH in Emmer Green has marked its 100th anniversary.
The programme for the centenary of the laying of the St Barnabas foundation stone culminated with a community fair and festival of flowers.
Another of the highlights was a presentation by Sarah Stuffins on the history of the BBC monitoring station at Caversham Park, which was supported by the Caversham and District Residents Association.
Mrs Stuffins, who worked at Caversham Park for many years before it closed in 2018, told of what it was like there during momentous worldwide political upheavals.
Among the sold-out audience at the speech was several of her former colleagues and special guest Julian Walker, the deputy lieutenant of Berkshire.
There was also a good turn-out for the church fair, which featured presentations by local groups including Econet, the residents association, the True Food community shop, Girlguiding and others.
