New priest for villages

A NEW assistant priest will join Ewelme and Benson churches next month.

Rev Marion Harrison, who has served in parishes across Norfolk and Wiltshire for decades and more recently was parish priest for five villages near Devizes.

Rev Harrison, who will live in Ewelme, will be working alongside Fr Patrick Gilday. Her licensing will take place on Thursday April 3, in church in St Mary’s Church in Ewelme at 7.30pm.

Fr Gilday said: “I am confident that her pastoral heart will bless all of us, both here in Ewelme and in the other villages.

“Please may I say an enormous thank you to all those involved in the recruitment and selection process.

“It is a huge piece of work to find a new priest and many, many people have helped. In particular, huge thanks to Martin Spence who guided the whole process while I was on sabbatical.”
