HUNDREDS of people visited Shiplake Farm as part of Open Farm Sunday.
There were trailer tractor rides, a machinery display and cattle on show. A cake stall raised more than £500 for the Thames Valley and Chiltern Air Ambulance Trust.
Farmer Stephen Doble said: “The idea was to get people to have a better understanding of where British food comes from and why it’s worth paying the extra for it. We had a lot of positive feedback.”
Field Farm at Lewknor and neighbouring Aston Rowant National Nature Reserve also took part in the initiative.
About 850 people visited the farm and owner Murray Graham said: “It took more than 30 volunteers from local farms and conservation organisations to pull it off but the overwhelmingly positive response from the public made it all worthwhile.”
