TWO new trees were uprooted in Benson by a resident.
Last month, 21 trees were planted around Sunnyside by volunteers to replace saplings that hadn’t grown and had left gaps in the canopy.
However, a resident removed two of the new saplings, which were donated by the Notcutts garden centre.
He complained that the trees would grow and eventually block his view of the football ground and that leaves would fall on his property, which he would have to sweep up.
Patricia Baylis, vice-chairman of the parish council, said: “The matter is in hand. We’re hoping to recover the property that has been removed and we will see where it takes us with our relationship with the resident in question.
“Certain people are extremely upset and it will be taken as far as the council can treat it.”
