Pitch appeal

AN appeal has been lodged against the refusal of plans to build two “gypsy pitches” in Sonning Common.

Building contractors John and Cindy Ayres want to develop seven hectares of land near Bishopswood recreation ground.

More than 200 residents objected saying the development was not in keeping with the area.

South Oxfordshire District Council had refused planning permission in November saying the development was unsuitable.
