PLANS for a development in Peppard that were labelled “disingenuous” by residents have been withdrawn.
D&N Construction, of Salisbury, applied to build a three-bedroom house on land off Peppard Hill where it already has permission for two four-bedroom houses.
The company also wanted to create a new access on Stoke Row Road.
Five residents formally objected to the plans, which were also opposed by Peppard Parish Council.
Fred and Sue Nickson, of Stoke Row Road, claimed the developer was “disingenuous, not to say downright dishonest” for putting in another application having previously agreed to apply for no more than two properties on the site, where Broadlands House used to stand.
The couple said the development would be out of character with the area and the new access would be dangerous.
The company said there was sufficient space around the site and the houses would not appear cramped.
