Couples decorate kiosk for remembrance

A FORMER telephone box has been decorated to mark Remembrance Day.

Sonning Common parish councillor Jonny Bidgood and Sue Hedges, of the village branch of the Women’s Institute, decorated the box in Wood Lane with the help of their partners, Val and Keith.

A white ensign has been hung up and a vase of knitted poppies has been placed inside the box, which is near the village hall. The refurbished red kiosk was recently been acquired by the parish council and could be turned into a book exchange. WI members have also knitted post box toppers.
