NEVER let it be said that politicians take themselves too seriously. Henley MP John Howell proved this while attending Benson’s annual parish meeting.

Parish councillor Dave Rushton thanked him for putting “his weight” behind efforts to solve local traffic issues to which the once-stout MP replied: “There’s a lot less weight than there used to be!”
