Plan for parking wardens

PARKING wardens could be introduced to Wargrave.

Wokingham Borough Council is looking into decriminalising parking across the borough, meaning police would no longer be responsible for enforcement.

Instead, cars parked in restricted areas such as on double yellow lines could be issued fines by private companies.

Wargrave Parish Council discussed the move at a meeting on Monday.

Borough councillor John Halsall, who represents the Remenham, Wargrave and Ruscombe ward, said it was a sensitive issue and he wanted councillors’ views on whether he should support the introduction of wardens.
