Support for home makeover

PLANS to renovate a family home in Crazies Hill have been backed by parish councillors.

Douglas and Alex Crichton have applied for permission to demolish an “unsound” garage at their home, Springlands, and replace it with a new garage and games room.

They also want to build a conservatory behind the house and convert the loft into another bedroom.

The volume of the property would increase by just over five per cent.

However, following previous extensions between 1958 and 1994, it would be an overall increase of 49 per cent on the original property, which was built in the Forties.
