Train misery

THERE was misery for commuters from Henley who experienced long delays on Monday morning on trains between Reading and London Paddington.

First Great Western said that signalling equipment between Slough and West Drayton had been damaged following overnight engineering work, affecting all four lines.

In a statement, the company advised customers to avoid travelling were possible.

Trains from Reading to Waterloo were running normally but were busier than normal as passengers switched routes.

Yesterday (Thursday) morning trains between London Paddington and Oxford were cancelled due to signalling problems.
