Jail for ‘shocking’ Stafferton Way Car Park robbers who stole man’s £10k watch

Benhucine (L) and Bensoltane (R) have been jailed.

Two robbers have been jailed after they injured a man as they pried an expensive watch from his wrist at Stafferton Way Car Park in Maidenhead.

Abdel Malek Benhucine, 28, and Wassim Bensoltane, 24, were both handed two years and three months in prison at a sentencing in Harrow Crown Court on Thursday, October 16.

The pair, who pleaded guilty to two counts of robbery in court, followed their victim, a man in his 50s, back from Maidenhead Railway Station at around 5.10pm on July 9, 2024.

When the man entered Stafferton Way Car Park, a multi-storey car park located near to the station, the two robbers closed in.

Having spotted a Panerai branded watch worth £10,000 on their victim’s wrists, the criminals wrestled with him to pry it away – causing the man minor injuries and the watch strap to snap.

Police said a ‘proactive’ investigation, including forensics and witness testimony, had been key to bringing successful charges against the robbers.

Benhucine, of Turnpike Lane in London, was arrested on August 14, 2024 and was charged on May 23, 2025.

He was later arrested by Essex Police for a similar robbery in that county.

Bensoltane, of no fixed address, was also later arrested and charged for both robberies.

Investigating officer, Maidenhead Priority Crime Team Investigator Graham Bavin said; “This was a shocking case where the victim was targeted for his high value watch.

“The investigation relied on witness identification, forensic and intelligence evidence to get a successful charge. The two year and three-month prison sentence for both suspects was a great result, and for the victim justice has been served.

“We remain committed to tackling persistent offenders and will continue to work proactively with our partners to prevent crime and safeguard our neighbourhoods.”
