SIXTY children from a Caversham performing arts school took part in a show for an audience of 8,000 at the 02 arena in London.
Soloist Daniella Moss Seymour, 15, brought the audience to tears with her performance of the song Music by John Miles.
She was backed by a 2,000-strong choir and 1,500 performers who performed a contemporary dance routine.
Students of Theatretrain Reading, based at Hill School in Peppard Road, have been rehearsing for six months for the 20@02 concert which featured 3,500 students from across the UK to celebrate the national performing arts school’s 20th anniversary.
Tiffany King, the centre director of Theatretrain, said: “This inaugural show at the 02 Arena was created with the best troupe of professional directors, choreographers and full orchestra.”
Performer Anna Chapman, 15, from Caversham, said: “It was an amazing opportunity that went down a storm, it was the most exciting and enjoyable night of my life.”
The youngsters will not be taking a break this summer, as their next opportunity is to record a single they have written themselves at a professional recording studio. Next year they will be performing at Disneyland Paris.
Theatretrain holds sessions from 10am to 1pm every Saturday. For more information contact Tiffany King on 0118 375 0638, email firstname.lastname@example.org or visit the website at www.theatretrain.co.uk
